Movement, energy, and transformation. Letters in Motion is an invitation to look closer, to find meaning in fluidity. It represents a vessel for the dialogue between tradition and modernity, where script becomes movement, and letters transcend their static form.
Foad Hamzeh, a self-taught artist based in Dubai, redefines the boundaries of Arabic script, merging it with his own graffiti font to create a contemporary expression. Finding graffiti during his early school years, he honed his skills by sketching on notebooks, which led to a deep appreciation for aesthetics and, eventually, a pursuit of art and architecture.
He expanded his practice to Arabic calligraphy, training with calligraphy masters and learning four different fonts before developing his own unique script. His artistic journey is deeply intertwined with the ancient traditions of Arabic calligraphy, yet he continuously pushes its boundaries by integrating graffiti techniques to bridge the past and the present.
