Little Mustafa Pasha Bath, Istanbul 1 May 2024 majlis—Arabic for “sitting room”—embodies the spirit of gathering, conversation, and storytelling. Once domestic, it later came to mean a “council” across Islamic societies.
Architecturally simple yet symbolic, it features low seating around a shared space—found everywhere from tea circles to verandas.
Pierre Paulin’s Le Tapis-Siège reinterprets this tradition, creating a communal zone for dialogue and connection.
